Mr. Frank Honde joined the Board of EthCo on May 1, 2021. He is the Founding and Managing Partner of SFS Property Consultants, a firm specializing in Quantity Surveying, Project Management, and Asset Valuation. He oversees the Lilongwe office and provides construction management consultancy services, focusing on contractual, financial, and project management.
With extensive experience in Malawi, the United Kingdom, and Zambia, Frank is a Project Manager and Chartered Quantity Surveyor. He holds a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying from the University of West England, Bristol, UK, and a Master of Science degree in Project Management from the University of Bolton, Bolton, UK. He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) in the United Kingdom and a Member of the Surveyors Institution of Malawi (MSIM).

Lyton Chithambo (Dr)
Ph.D. (Finance), M.Sc. Finance & Risk, FCCA, FHEA, CPA (M), B.Com.
Dr Chithambo was born on 3rd May 1979. He is the Chief Operating Officer for PCL. Prior to this, he served as General Manager Operations and Project Manager for PCL. Before that, he was Group Risk Manager ultimately responsible for coordinating various projects and establishing Enterprise Risk Management structures within the Group. Prior to joining the PCL Group in January 2015, Dr Chithambo worked as Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at the Bournemouth University in the United Kingdom. Prior to relocating to the United Kingdom, Dr Chithambo spent almost a decade at the Reserve Bank of Malawi where he rose through the ranks from Examiner in Supervision to Principal Examiner responsible for financial institutions supervision.

Moureen Mbeye
EMBA, B. Acc, FCCA, CA (M)
Mrs Moureen Mbeye was born on 28th September 1981. She is a highly experienced, results-oriented finance specialist with over 20 years’ diverse experience and proven record of success in directing financial operations and management of organizations, ensuring continuing business growth and achievement of strategic goals. Ms Mbeye is technically competent in strategic planning and execution, financial planning and performance monitoring/reporting, budget and budgetary control, internal controls formulation and implementation, auditing, tax planning, company secretarial, mergers and acquisitions evaluations and analysis. She serves as a Director of several PCL Group companies and has strong decision-making skills, effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Prior to joining the PCL Corporate Office, Ms Mbeye worked in various senior positions at Malawi Telecommunications Limited (MTL). She also worked in senior audit positions between 2003 and 2008 for KCC Finance Associates and Peter Holdsworth and Company.

Jeromy Ngolombe
B. Soc Sc (Economics), MBA.
Mr. Jeromy Ngolombe was born on 15th June, 1974. He was appointed to the board of Ethanol Company Limited in May 2020. Currently, he is working as Estate Support Head for Illovo Sugar Malawi plc – Dwangwa Sugar Estate. He joined Illovo in 2001, starting as a Human Resources Officer at Nchalo Sugar Estate. He worked in the Human Resources function up to 2020. During the HR career, he progressed to the level of a Human Resources Manager before taking up the role of an Estate Support Head. Prior to joining Illovo, he worked in the civil service as a Labour Officer from 1999 to 2000 and also worked for 1 year as a Human Resources Officer at Chibuku Products Limited in 2001. He is currently serving as the Chairman of Board of Trustees of SUCOMA Group Pension Scheme since 2017.

Mr. Benson W. Jere was appointed to the Board of Ethanol Company Limited in August 2016. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of NBM Capital Markets Limited since 2011. He is a seasoned investment management professional. He boosts over 20 years of experience with local and international exposure in the investment management industry. He holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Economics & Finance from University of Malawi; Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree ( B Com Hons) in Economics and Corporate Finance from University of Cape Town in South Africa; and Bachelor of Social Science (BSocSc) in Economics from University of Malawi.

Mr. William T. Mabulekesi was appointed to the Board of Ethanol Company Limited on 1st August 2016 He is currently working as Manager of NBM Pensions Administration Limited since 2009 a wholly owned subsidiary of National Bank of Malawi specifically established to offer Pension Fund Administration services. He joined National Bank of Malawi in 2007 after working with Standard Bank of Malawi for 12 years in various Positions including being the Bank Economist for 3 and half years and an International Trade Trainee and Chief Dealer Money Market for 4 years .He holds a Masters Degree in Banking and Finance from Fondanzione Dell’amore (FINAFRICA) Italy, ACI Dealing Certificate in Foreign and Money Market Trading and a Bachelor of Social Science with a major in Economics.

Bernadette Malunga (Dr)
PdD (Law), M. Women’s Law, M. Commercial Law, LLB (Hons)
Dr Bernadette Malunga was born on 30th September 1981. She was appointed to the board of Ethanol Company Limited on the 18th of August 2024. She holds a PhD in Law from the University of Nairobi, a Master’s Degree in Women’s Law from the University of Zimbabwe, a Master’s in Commercial Law from the University of Malawi, and an LLB (Hons) upper second-class Degree at the University of Malawi.
Dr Malunga is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Malawi in the School of Law, Economics and Government, where she teaches, among others, commercial and gender-related law subjects such as Company Law and Comparative Business Finance Law. Dr Malunga also serves as the Head of the Private Law Department at the University of Malawi. She is a seasoned researcher and consultant with over 18 years of experience in Commerce, Gender, and the Law. Dr Malunga’s work has focused on how the law impacts disadvantaged groups, including women and children. Dr Malunga is well-published with international and local publishers and has over 15 publications. She has published, among other things, on taxation, administrative justice, access to justice, electoral violence, public participation in rule-making processes, African feminism, and land rights.

Chief Executive Officer and Director
Lusubilo Chakaniza
BSc (Physics), MSc Renewable Energy & Architecture
Mrs Chakaniza was born on 13th October 1974. She joined the Company in October 2002 as a Management Trainee, after working as a Physics and Energy Academic Lecturer with the University of Malawi for five years from 1997. In 2004, she was confirmed as a Plant Supervisor and later delegated the duties of a Safety Health and Environment Coordinator. She held these two responsibilities for 5 years before being promoted to Process Engineer in 2009. In January 2012, she was further promoted to the position of Production Manager. She has held the position of Chief Executive Officer since July 2014, after having acted on the role for six months between January and June 2014. In February 2019, Mrs Chakaniza was appointed as an Executive Director on the Board of Ethanol Company Limited.
